Once again, ZDF tried to link the AfD to the alleged secret meeting in Potsdam and defame it. Beatrix von Storch skilfully countered and defended the AfD.
In Maybritt Illner's ZDF talk show on 15 February 2014, the deputy leader of the AfD parliamentary group, Beatrix von Storch, took part in the talk show, which was also attended by Sahra Wagenknecht, SPD General Secretary Kevin Kühnert, CDU politician Jens Spahn and Spiegel editor Melanie Amann.
The programme was subject to an anti-AfD framing from the very beginning. This began with the fact that the intro confronted the AfD with the private and allegedly secret meeting in Potsdam.
And so Beatrix von Storch was called upon to defend herself against these attacks against the AfD from the very beginning.
Beatrix von Storch pointed out that this meeting was not an AfD meeting but a meeting of private individuals and that some participants had already taken action against Correctiv for false reporting and had submitted sworn statements. There was also no mention of "deportations".
As a result of the Correctiv report, numerous media outlets insinuated or implied that the AfD wanted to deport German passport holders with a migration background on the basis of ethnic characteristics. This is a false allegation. This was a campaign against the AfD to make citizens afraid of the AfD and bring them onto the streets.
In fact, the AfD wanted to implement politically what Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) and his coalition government had announced themselves, namely that illegally present migrants and those who have committed offences would be deported on a large scale in accordance with the law.
Beatrix von Storch pointed out that migration had not solved the problem of skilled labour, but had exacerbated it. Those who are wanted on the labour market are not coming, and those who are not wanted on the labour market have come.
