Christenschutz (CS): Mr von Storch, the facts could not be more alarming: The abortion rate has reached an all-time high since 2012 with 106,000 reported cases. At the same time, fewer children are being born than ever before.

Sven von Storch: The government should actually be calling crisis meetings on how to stop and reverse this demographic emergency.

CS: Instead, you say, the traffic lights are fuelling this negative demographic trend.

Sven von Storch: Because few children of Germans who have lived here for a long time fit into the ideology of green shrinkage and "white death". Fewer children means less CO2, as the green philanthropists following in the footsteps of Pol Pot and Mao Tse Tung never tire of preaching. That is why they are now proceeding step by step to criminalise any deviation from their thoroughly anti-life agenda.

CS: Please elaborate on that.

Sven von Storch: Take the new law proposed by the Federal Minister for Queer Affairs, Lisa Paus (Greens). Not only does she want to completely legalise abortion, she also wants to make any form of public advocacy for life a case for the police.

According to the government, anyone who in any way offers affected mothers and their unborn children information, advice and help, prays or reads from the Bible within a radius of 100 metres of abortion facilities is committing "pavement nuisance" and should be punished for it. For me, this is a completely unconstitutional attack on freedom of expression, an affront to life itself. Even simply quoting the penal code, especially paragraph 218, could soon cost citizens dearly - with fines of up to 5,000 euros.

CS: How do you explain this almost hate-fuelled assault by the government on citizens who think differently?

Sven von Storch: Hatred of life is deeply rooted in left-green thinking. It is almost the political leitmotif of this government. This is most consistently demonstrated by the left-wing feminist "woke" Ampel-Trümmertruppe in their contempt for unborn life.

According to the text in the proposed law, the pregnant woman on the way to the abortion doctor should not be "disturbed", "confused" or even upset by unruly images, prayers or offers of help or dialogue. It is precisely the person who decides against their own flesh and blood who must receive the full protection of the state and society according to the will of the Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Lisa Paus, and her cuddled abortion lobby - and not the completely abandoned, helpless little life in her womb. Instead of protecting the innocent child that is on its last journey to certain death, they simply twist the focus - and turn it into a tailor-made prohibition law.

CS: The problem for Paus could have been that administrative courts have repeatedly upheld the right to freedom of expression for pro-lifers - and Paus therefore lacked the legal means to intervene.

Sven von Storch: Absolutely right. And not only that: time and again, radical abortion advocates like Paus and Josephine Ort, the parliamentary secretary of the SPD parliamentary group, talk about women allegedly "running the gauntlet" in front of clinics, even that they are "physically harassed" and other such denunciations. In fact, the government cannot substantiate a single case of this ominous "pavement harassment" that allegedly takes place every day in Germany. Even Paus himself had to admit this in the Bundestag. In concrete terms, this means that they are basing their law against "pavement harassment", which makes a mockery of the constitution, on a freely invented horror story in order to turn any form of criticism of abortion into a case for the public prosecutor.

Citizens should never forget this: How many children would not be alive today without mostly Christian pro-lifers who, through their selfless commitment, through empathetic dialogue, through showing a positive alternative, persuaded mothers to decide in favour of their child at the last moment? That is what counts in the end, before God and before us humans.

And one more thing: there is currently only one party that stands up for unborn life without ifs and buts - and that is the AfD. I hope that many, many citizens will take this fact into account when they vote.
