About the Author: Fulton John Sheen, (1895-1979) was a Roman Catholic bishop in the United States and one of the most influential figures in the American Christian media of the 20th century. He was a very prolific author of books, but also early used the new media of radio and television to preach. From 1930, he ran a weekly radio program called the Catholic Hour. From 1951 he also worked on television and thus became one of the first "television preachers". He hosted the weekly Life Is Worth Living for the DuMont Television Network and later for ABC, in which he gave half-hour lectures on life or faith. In 1952, he won an Emmy Award for it.
